Some prisons don't have bars, They're made of ideas. Sometimes a prison is built on hope; A brass ring is a hangman's rope. Some prisons are made with scars and gilded with subtle self-loathing. There's pill-bottle prisons with opiate locks reserved for the lucky ones. All the prisons filling up through the cracks in your veneer, And a prison being built for every child of empire. All the prisons filling up with the bodies you can't erase, evidence of broken teeth behind the smile of empire. All the prisons filling up. Some prisons don't have walls, They're made of our bodies. Mirrors and strangers and all that they see, Staring through you. Some prisons are made with need, and hunger you can't cure. Find one that suits you and settle in tight, lest you be shuttled away to: All the prisons filling up. All the prisons filling up through the cracks in your veneer, And a prison being built for every child of empire. All the prisons filling up with the bodies you can't erase, evidence of broken teeth behind the smile of empire. All the prisons filling up.

Hidden in miles of razor wire, buried in mountains of concrete, there's millions of people with faces and names. Millions of people waiting. And should the gates swing open, A sentence just begun. No open arms awaiting, and all roads call for your return. This isn't justice. There is no justice here.

Dear Disaster, I know it's been a while since I've written, but I trust you understand what it's like to build a boat from wreckage to get back to the land. I'm sure you seen a pile of rubble and mistook it for your hearth. I'm sure you've spent a while when waking just remembering where you are. The wildfires made shimmering walls of flame, a letter latent there burned up on its way. Now the winds can blow 60 degrees below, a letter there I know was buried in the snow. And the fields dried up the summer's empty cup, raised to the cracked lips of rivers and cricks. And the oil train on the Dakota Plain exploding into angry flames.

Midnight Sun 04:32
Here's to all that you can see from the furthest edge of things. The places we crawl to try to find our wings. I'm drunk on the stars only deserts can see. And I just wish that you could share this loneliness with me. Yeah, I just wish that you could share this loneliness with me.

we’ve opened up our eyes to the center with tattered tongues still sensing one another though darkness pulls, our feet stay close together our closeness gave us strength and ice and ember but it’s not what we wanted no it’s not//its just how we landed our roots are twined, but only by reaction as branches grow in opposite direction as light begins to grow I feel migration but pulling from the soil hear breaks and tension ‘cause its not what we wanted no it’s not//it’s just how we landed and they we’ve opened up our eyes to the center with tattered tongues, still sensing one another though darkness pulls, our feet stay close together our closeness gave us strength and ice and ember but it’s not what we wanted no it’s not//its just how we landed
